ProductDescription : Airtight zippered display pouches protect 3D Printer Filament spools while in storage. Clear front and back provide total visibility. You can clearly see labeling, markings and remaining filament immediately without removing spool from the bag. Thick (4.5 - 5 mil) barrier material protects items from moisture, gas. The bag is designed to resist moisture, Putting 3D printer filament spools in these bags will keep the filament from absorbing moisture while in storage. 3D printer filament is 'hydrophilic"; it absorbs moisture from humidity in the environment. As the filament is pushed thru the hot end of a 3D FDM printer, the moisture can boil away affecting print quality as melted filament is extruded. Filiment print quality will be improved if the filament is protected from moisture as these bags will do. The oversize desiccant bags provided in this kit are even MORE hydrophilic than filament. The dessicant will over a short time absorb moisture from the filament in the same bag. Once the moisture in the bag is absorbed, moisture from the filament will be absorbed into the desiccant. Reducing humidity in the storage environment will help avoid moisture absorbtion by filament. The desiccant pack is typically used to control moisture in boxes and drums many times the size of this storage bag. These storage bags can keep your new filament dry. Over a few days they can dry out filament that already absorbed moisture.
