ProductDescription : Most Chinese Musicians first come into contact with the Soprano Banhu when they play the piece Xi YANG YANG (喜洋洋）by Maestro Liu Mingyuan. The shrill, sonorous and raw sound of the banhu, in the hands of a skillful performer is very typical of northern , western Chinese music. Such tones are being explored by contemporary composers today, and more and more orchestral and ensemble works feature the Soprano Banhu as a solo instrument in the ensemble.

We use Hainan Coconut shells, well known for its size and shape (for making banhu), and hardness when dried. Top grade paulownia with straight grains for clarity and crispness of sounds.
