ProductDescription : This Windlass hand axe features many traits common to the Norse hatchets we've come to love through the years. The solid, one-piece hand forged axe head is strong X46Cr13 high-grade stainless steel with a 52 HRC. X46Cr13 is equivalent to American Iron & Steel Institute standard 420C. The steel is a good combination of high hardness and corrosion resistance making it the perfect choice for the blade. The comfortably contoured handle is Sissoo, a North Indian hardwood and it's capped with a handsome genuine viking knot engraved bone butt cap. The axe handle is durable,soft and resistant. It is naturally resistant to moisture, heat, light, termite and other harmful agents. Even better are the Norse engravings unique to our axe that are deeply etched on both sides of the handle, and on the bone end cap is a depiction of Thor's mighty hammer, Mjolnir. The axe comes with a genuine leather sheath to cover the axe head that can be attached to a belt. Handy in size and gorgeous on display. Comes in a faux fur lined box.
