This is a solid leather hair barrette with a matching key fob in your choice of name or initial and the color brown or black. These oval shaped barrettes are hand made in Mooresville, Indiana, USA. I have been crafting these heavy-duty leather barrettes for over 40 years now. 6 upper case letters is the maximum that will fit. Sorry but no numbers or symbols. I have 4 sizes of lettering and the more letters on the barrette, the smaller the letters will have to be. For barrettes with 1 letter I will use my large letters. Barrettes with 2 to 3 letters will receive the medium size lettering. Barrettes with 4 to 5 letters will receive the small lettering and barrettes with 6 letters will be done with the smallest lettering. The photos represent the lettering choices, but please understand that leather is a natural substance and each barrette will be unique. Each piece of leather will take the dye in its own way, and therefore there will be some variations of the colors. Each oval shaped barrette is 2" tall and 4 1/4" wide. The centers of the holes are 3 1/4" apart. The barrette sticks are made of lathe-turned hardwood, very sturdy and finished in an attractive dark stain.

We sometimes hear, "Oh, I can't wear those. My hair is too thin." Or, "Oh, I can't wear those. My hair is too thick." NOT TRUE!! If your hair is long enough for a ponytail, you can wear our barrettes. Just put your hair up into a ponytail with an elastic hairband. Then add the barrette by spearing the stick just above the hairband. You do not have to surround all of your hair and the barrette can't slip off because it is trapped by the hairband. The barrette covers the hairband, making it look as though you are only wearing the barrette. If you want to put your hair up in a bun, put it in a low ponytail first. Then twist your hair up and add the barrette.
