ProductDescription : These elephant dung photo albums are made from 75% elephant dung & 25% recycled paper to make a great, quirky but practical gift. They are Fairly Trade and handmade by skilled artisans in Sri Lanka with elephant dung paper from the Maximus Elephant Conservation Trust. These albums have 35 pages of paddy husk paper. Each album comes in its own elephant dung presentation box with a brass elephant motif on the top. Paddy husk is a by product of the rice milling process, has a high fibre & silica content and is a beautiful handmade paper. Each page has been interleaved with tissue paper. This small album can hold up to 60 photos. Photos can be put in with photo corners, spray mount or glue. The process of making elephant dung paper is a little different to making handmade paper! The fibres are pulped by the elephant, instead of by hand or machine, whilst they are digesting, then the readymade pulp comes out the back!
