It will thread directly into the side of the pre-weld 1/2" Female NPT coupler of brew kettles/kegs, or into the back of any weldless ball valves, allowing you to better filter trub and whole hops from your wort while transferring from your kettle/kegs to your fermenter.

False bottoms are used to separate the grains from the wort. They are often installed at the bottom of the lauter tun to allow the wort to drain while leaving the grain behind. The basic construction of a false bottom is that it features a lot of tiny holes that are punched or drilled through a stainless steel screen.
