Hammerlock coupling links are popular to use for their ease to be assembled and disassembled, and can be quickly added to an assembly on site. Our safety chain connector is useful for a variety of applications, such as connecting multiple pieces of chain together, to use with trailer safety chains on your trailer or pickup trucks, with lifting slings, and connecting chain to connecting oblongs, sling hooks, and more. You can also use it to create a bigger connection point to get a shackle attached to the chain (this would be a permanent connection because of the way the pin has to be hammered in). The heavy-duty coupling link is made of grade 80 forged alloy steel, then painted to withstand the elements. It has a working load limit of 12,000 pounds and is forged and stamped clearly with chain size and chain grade information. Meets or exceeds ASTM A952 / A952M & ASME B30.26 requirements. Use for lifting-approved grade 80 chain. To assemble: bring the two coupling link body halves together, position the tube in the center of the hammerlock, and insert the load pin through the hammerlock to drive it until it's flushed with the surface. To dissemble: grab an item like a screwdriver that you can use to drive the load pin out, and use a hammer to drive it out of the links.
