In 1971, the factory produced its first annual plate. This plate utilized the "Heavenly Angel" (Hum 21) design and was released to the Goebel factory workers to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the W. Goebel firm. The plate was subsequently produced for regular sales withouth the factory worker inscription. It was received so well in the United States, it was decided that a similar plate would be released annually from then on. The 1971 plate was not released to European dealers. Hum 285 is the twenty-first edition of the Annual Plate series and includes the "Just Resting" design.
