As a basking rock, there’s enough natural porosity that although the rock gets warm accumulating heat, it doesn’t get too hot; as glazed ceramic tile or slate would. As an aesthetic element in the habitat, they offer a truly natural accessory piece which is also manageable to keep clean. Natural rock also provides a means for self-grooming of reptile claws. These are real rocks (not cast resin or coated Styrofoam) and each one is unique. Grouped by general size (medium or large) and color (Deep Maroon, Painted Desert, Uluru Red, Watarrka Rose and Wyoming Rose). Hand selected to typically have at least one side basically flat. The medium sizes about 6” x 8” and large sizes about 7-1/4” x 12-5/8”. We scrub the Natural Habitat Rocks that we use periodically in hot water, with a brush reserved for that purpose, followed by chlorhexidine.
