These high quality Talavera Mexican tiles from Tierra y Fuego can be a perfect complement to decorate a bathroom shower wall, kitchen backsplash, fireplace, or stairway. Each tile is handcrafted; which gives it a warm and rustic finish. They are glazed, decorated by hand, and fired twice in a kiln. Some characteristic of these tiles are: they have a nominal size of 6 x 6 in., are not perfectly square, and may vary by 1/8 in. Variation in color by lot may be present. Crazing effect may appear before or after installation. The tile industry recommends adding 5-10% additional tiles to compensate for cuts or unforeseen problems. This is particularly important in complex installations. There is no guarantee that tiles ordered as add-ons will match those from previous orders. This is an inherent characteristic of all ceramic tiles, and particularly in all handcrafted tiles. SUITABLE USAGE: Residential and commercial interior wall applications, bathroom walls, light-use countertop, showers, back splashes, fireplaces, counters, and light-use flooring (as accents on floors, or as a border to define an area). Pool chemicals may negatively impact glazes. Not slip resistant. NOT frost proof. Outdoor use is subject to climate. This label is required by the state of California: CALIFORNIA PROPOSITION 65 WARNING: Chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer and reproductive toxicity, including lead, are present in this product. Glazed ceramics are commonly made using this chemical. Lead is a glaze component for bonding the tile bisque and glazes.
