ProductDescription : "80° Carbide inserts have a strong shape that is generally used for roughing a part to near finished size quickly. This holder is offset 35° to the side for cutting from left to right (the chip comes off to the right side). It is made from steel and case hardened and given a black oxide finish. Included is a P/N 7608 80° carbide insert, Torx hold-down screw and Torx key. A left-hand holder is available as P/N 2254 or you can buy the pair of holders as P/N 2255 at a substantial savings in price compared to buying the two tools separately. The 3/8"" shank can be held in a P/N 7600 standard height 3/8"" tool post or the P/N 1289 riser 3/8"" tool post. For those who prefer the 2250 quick-change tool post, there is now a P/N 2282 quick-change holder for 3/8"" shank tools as well." The 3/8"" shank can be held in a P/N 7600 standard height 3/8"" tool post or the P/N 1289 riser 3/8"" tool post. For those who prefer the 2250 quick-change tool post, there is now a P/N 2282 quick-change holder for 3/8"" shank tools as well." Much like the adjustable live center, holding a tool in perfect alignment in the tailstock without some method of adjusting it can be difficult or impossible. To achieve perfect centering, the tool is mounted to a front plate. The rear plate has the #0 Morse taper that goes in the tailstock spindle. Slightly oversize holes in the rear plate allow the two plates to be adjusted in relationship to each other so that the tool can be brought into perfect alignment with the headstock. This is an economical way to have the accuracy of an adjustable tailstock for those who need it while keeping costs down for those who don't.
