This is a Trumpeter 1/48 Scale assembly and painting required plastic model kit of the Mikoyan-Gurevich MiG-3, a World War II era fighter aircraft of the Soviet Union. Model kit features: recessed panel lines with rivets, detailed cockpit, 3-piece canopy and separately molded slats, ailerons and flaps. Also includes RS-82 underwing rockets (x6). Decals and color painting guide for 3 VVS aircraft. 83 parts, 5 sprues. Length: 172.4 mm, Wingspan: 212.22 mm. German invasion of the Soviet Union in June 1941. The MiG-3 suffered from multiple performance problems, and the type was eventually relegated to reconnaissance role, which it was well suited for. Despite MiG-3's limitations as a fighter aircraft, Aleksandr Pokryshkin, the second leading Soviet ace of the war with 59 official victories, recorded most of those victories while flying a MiG-3.
