ProductDescription : The Ventopedic Palm Positioning Aid is designed to prevent skin breakdown in the palm for individuals who have a closed hand or an upper extremity disability. This hand support has a firm cylinder in the center with a soft adjustable strap. The Ventopedic fabric eliminates odors generally caused by moisture related bacterial growth in a contracted hand. The center roll prevents the hand from closing completely which helps to improve hand flexion contractures. Ventopedic fabric is made of controlled levels of hydrophobic and hydrophilic fibers found that attract and expel moisture four times faster than regular fabric. This combination of fibers allows the product to remain dry and comfortable. The fabric material is a 3-dimentional structure which creates continuous air ventilation inside the product and allows for effective moisture control inside the hand. The interior structure also relieves pressure and creates soft cushioning support. The fabric will keep the skin at a regulated temperature which will eliminate the likelihood of skin breakdown and / or the formation of pressure ulcers inside the hand. The fabric can be machine washed and dried and it is latex-free.
