ProductDescription : These are nice panel lights to use as power indicators. They directly take 120 VAC; there is no need to add a resistor or a diode to protect the LED from reverse breakdown. In fact on the latter, there are apparently 2 LEDs inside these lights. I could perceive a bit of flicker, but it's really hard to detect, and in most cases it won't be a problem. To figure this out, I powered the light with a signal generator @ 1 Hz. See the video: 2 LEDs are alternately lit, as the voltage reverses polarity. That is sort of like increases the flicker rate to 120 Hz, but not exactly the same thing, since the light is moving between two physical locations. For the more technically inclined, I've put a diode across the LED, in the reverse polarity, such that the LED was not forced into reverse breakdown. I don't really know if that's a problem, if current is limited, but it is a bit of a concern. This panel light simply uses a second LED as the 'protection diode', which produces more light (since it's on twice as much of the time), and tends to reduce perceived flicker. I measured 1.2 mA of AC current at 120 VAC. So likely there is a resistor of about 100k in series with the LEDs
