ProductDescription : Heat fusible fiber is soft, strands of polyester designed to be used as is or "fused" with the application of low heat to create a firm, usable material. Heat press the fibers between two sheets of tissue paper or parchment on low setting, approximately 300'F (silk on a household iron). Fibers are shipped in tightly packed, sealed bags. Once opened, the fibers will fluff up and can easily be pulled apart to work with or re-package. Every last little fiber can be used. It can be cut into short bits to sprinkle or left as long strands, approx. 4 inches long. Images show fiber loose on light and dark backgrounds, fiber after fusing with heat and fused fiber cut to a straight edge. Due to the sparkling shimmer and iridescent nature of the fibers, colors are hard to show precisely on screen as they vary as the light reflects off them and from different angles. Applying varying amounts of heat to the fiber when it's being fused allows you to change the color depth and iridescence of the fiber. Fiber is made in USA ! There are twenty base colors, but an infinite number can be created by blending strands if different colors together. Fusible Fibers soften and fuse together using a heat source, such as an ordinary household iron, to form a luminescent, web-like material. Polyester based, the fibers will adhere only to themselves and not to other fibers, tissue paper or fabrics. Fusible fiber should be washed in cool water and air dried. Applying additional heat to fused fibers will change the color and finish of the fiber. Fusible fiber is sold in 1oz packs and bulk 8oz packs.
