This grade is recommended for cutting abrasive materials without an interrupted cut. TiCN is a multi-layer, PVD coating for cutting abrasive and difficult to machine materials such as aluminum, brass, bronze, copper and cast iron. TiCN provides excellent wear resistance and allows increased cutting rates. TiCN is harder and more impact resistant than TiN.
