This map was created by reknown cartographer, Petro Plancio and engraved by Dutch master, Jan van Doetecum in 1594. This was an important map because it was the first of the highly decorated maps that would dominate world maps for many decades. As a puzzle, this image is perfect because of the visual clue of the map itself and the various letters, words and drawings that help locate pieces on the puzzle.
