ProductDescription : A West condenser is a thinner version of the Liebig condenser,with narrow annular space that allows for the increased flow rate of water to provide high cooling efficiency.It consists of an inner straight tube surrounded by an outer jacket tube,the cool water flows through the outer jacket from bottom to top to condensate the vapor in the inner tube. The fused-on narrower coolant jacket may render more efficient cooling with respect to coolant consumption.
A west condenser can be both used in a reflux and a apparatus .In the reflux apparatus, just as the graham condenser,Dimroth condenser,coiled condenser,liebig condenser does,the lower inner joint will be inserted into a round bottom flask which contains the mixture liquid,the upper outer joint may attach a dry tube to atmospheric from entering a reaction system.In the apparatus,a west condenser is placed obliquely between a flask and a receiving flask, a three way thermometer adapter and a take off adapter are used to connect them.
