ECO LOOFAHS are grown and produced by communities of landless peasants of the MST (Movimento de Trabalhadores Sem Terra) settled near the Pontal de Paranapanema, one of the last remaining tracks of Atlantic Rainforest in Brazil. Sales of the loofas help these communities improve their lives while preserving and educating about the local ecosystem. The communities also participate in reforestation projects organized by the Brazilian NGO, IPE- Instituto de Pesquisas Ecológicas.
