ProductDescription :

Set of 4 original Absinthe Glasses with reservoir and traditional 19. century design:

The ALANDIA Absinthe glasses "Pontarlier" are the epitome of original Absinthe glasses. They are world renowned after being featured in a painting made by Charles Maire for the most popular Absinthe of the 19th century, Pernod Fils. You can see the original painting in the photo gallery. The Pontarlier glass has a reservoir in the stem to measure the correct amount of Absinthe. Like former originals it is nicely cut, to give it a premium and nostalgic look. If you are looking for original Absinthe glasses, the Pontarlier glasses are the definite winner. But have in mind, that these glasses are handmade. This means, that every glass is unique. It does not come out of a mold, therefore each glass can vary a bit in shape and thickness of the material used.

The traditional French Absinthe Ritual:

The French Absinthe ritual is comparable with the preparation of Pastis Pernod or Ricard, the follower or substitute of Absinthe after its prohibition. You fill the Absinthe glass with an amount of Absinthe (2 to 4cl, about a tenth pint). Then an Absinthe spoon is placed on the glass and one or two sugar cubes are placed on the spoon (you can buy excellent ALANDIA Barware Absinthe spoons as well here at Amazon). Then ice-cold water is poured over the spoon. You have to do it slowly to dissolve the sugar cube completely. The green Absinthe blends with the water and begins to louche into white sage. The perfect Absinthe water ratio is 1:3. Finally stir the Absinthe with the spoon and voilá, your Absinthe is prepared!

Conclusion:

The ALANDIA Absinthe glasses are the best on the market. They combine authenticity with best quality!
