UDAP’s World’s Hottest Formula handheld pepper spray is rated at 3.0% Major Capsaicinoids (MC) making it the hottest formula. MCs are the chemical components of peppers that make them hot. Measuring by MC is a laboratory conducted and very accurate test for gauging hotness. The primary deciding factor in a pepper spray is the MC rating, not the Oleoresin Capsaicin (OC) rating. Without knowing the MC percentage, OC percentage tells you nothing about the hotness of a spray. Almost all other pepper sprays fall between the ranges of 0.18% to 1.33%.
