Just one pair, all five pairs or any other switch combination can be chosen. Power rating (per channel) is 50 watts, so moderately large amplifiers are safe to connect. Assuming 8Ω speakers and dependent on the selection chosen, the connected stereo will never see a load lower than 4Ω or higher than 16Ω. Note that this model does provide overload cutoff protection against shorts; nevertheless be careful with your wiring and never make or change speaker connections while your stereo is powered up.
