It is usually used to attach a plastic shroud or housing to a metal frame. The screw is 3/4" long and has a 1/4"-15 thread size. It has an unslotted hex head. The screw has a high-low design, where half of the threads are thinner and half of them are thicker. The screw is made from case-hardened steel, plated/coated with Zinc CR3 Chromate to inhibit oxidation. It is a self-tapping screw, which is also sometimes known as thread-forming or self-threading.
