Copper is very effective at controlling algae in swimming pools and hot tubs. However, it is important to keep it in the correct range to make sure that it's concentrated enough to be effective, but not so high that it could cause staining. A positive LSI can cause dissolved minerals to precipitate which can lead to staining over time. Keeping copper in the correct range, along with the LSI, is important to get the most of your mineral pool over the long term.
