Motherboards with a high (12+) PCIe slot density, or with metal reinforcements around the PCIe slots, will not work with these clips. Also components next to the PCIe slot, such as capacitors, may interfere with the proper installation of the clips. Please check your motherboard before ordering.

These type of cable risers are often used when you need to operate your video graphic card some distance away from the actual motherboard, such as in multiple GPU configurations like in cryptocurrency mining or machine learning setups. This listing is for the locking clips only and does not include any PCIe USB risers, the riser boards are only shown in the pictures to help demonstrate how these clips are to be installed and function. USB cable PCIe riser boards will often fit loose in the PCIe slots when inserted by themselves and this loose fit can sometimes lead to a slight separation of the mini-riser USB board from the PCIe slot causing the attached GPU(s) to no longer work. This results in your miner or machine learning computer losing the function of one or more GPUs, and in extreme cases this condition could cause damage to the motherboard andor GPU. These clips fit easily and snugly over the mini circuit boards with top-mounted USB ports and secure to the underside ledge molded into the PCIe slot (see the attached pictures for details). These are 3D printed parts made from PLA and flex enough to snap into place and provide a secure hold. They also unsnap easily, but you might need to use a small screwdriver to get in under the tabs to release them. Please Note: These clips are for motherboards with standard PCIe slot spacing (which have approximately 13mm between the PCIe slots). They will not fit on boards such as the ASRock H110 Pro BTC+ that use non-standard PCIe slot spacing. These motherboards achieve the increased number of PCIe slots by using the space normally reserved between the standard PCIe slot spacing.
